Today is not my wedding anniversary. But today is the day that Basil and I will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. You see, when we picked our wedding date, Basil failed to mention that it was going to fall during the Stanley Cup finals every. single. year! This year since the Red Wings are in the playoffs (as they have been for the past 17 years!!, Go Wings *ahem*) we have to celebrate on a non-game night. Our actual anniversary is on June 2nd, Monday night; Game 5 between the Penguins. These are the kinds of things you overlook for the love of your life. Look at those eyes. How could I ever say no to that man?

So, today we are spending the day leisurely making our way to Asheville, where we will be having dinner at Laughing Seed Cafe and then spending the night at my mother's place in Hendersonville. A whole day alone together with no work, planning, or distractions. Yippee!

Happy 7th Anniversary, baby. I love you.
This is the song that was playing during our first dance as husband and wife. Baby Love Child by Pizzacato Five.

My anniversary is today! :)

You live in NC? I mean, I think you've mentioned it before and it sort of blew by me. But now I'm thinking about possibly moving to an ecovillage in NC (Earthaven), so it has my attention.

And NC keeps coming up everywhere I look these days.

My MIA brother lives in Asheville. I have always wanted to go because it is supposed to be totally beautiful, artsy and something of a new age mecca I understand. You all have a wonderful time and I hope momma gives you little love birds a bit of privacy on your special celebration!

Happy Anniversary! (from Melissa, in Pittsburgh, where we are also following the Stanley Cup, from a slightly different point of view...;-)
I'm going to have to get to Asheville one of these days. My parents are now in Winston-Salem, which I believe is not to far.
Have a great weekend!

I have to "sing" that whenever anyone has an anniversary. It's from old Flintstone cartoon. So there,
I sang it for you and Basil!
