Day 24 of 100 Day Raw Food Challenge: Jicama Fries

Today I make Ray's Jicama Fries from www.GoneRaw.com and they are delicious!

Props to recipe creator Ray from GoneRaw. Here is a link directly to the recipe. Ray's Jicama Fries

There is something funky going on with my video camera! My theory? Demon possession!

UPDATE! I have been informed that it is pronounced Hick-a-ma, and not the redneck Southern way that I repeatedly say it in this video! Forgive the Bunny. She is a HICK as in Jicama! OMG, HOW EMBARASSING!

You're the cutest! I look forward to your daily videos...inspiring, they are. Anyhoo, the pronunciation is HIHcama--with a short i sound, stress on the 1st syllable. It's one of my teenager's favorite foods! The fries look great...wonder how they'd dehydrate...

I love your videos so much. I'm going to have to go back and watch all the ones I missed (I didn't find you until your day 19, I think.)
I thought the way you pronounced Jicama sounded great!
If I wasn't juice feasting right now I would try some of those fries immediately, they looked fantastic.
By the way, thanks for adding my juice feast blog to your links.
See you soon!

How cool to get a glimpse of Basil! Hi there, Basil! *waves*

Thanks for another fun video, Bunny.

Lots of love to you!

I'm screaming laughing so hard... Ha ha ha! What a great video. Those do look good. I tried juicing a jicama on my juice feast and when you take the crunchy out it just leaves the NASTY. I'm sure the fries are much better. I will have to try it.

ps. I agree, the jungle peanuts are a tad expensive.

What a cute video! I know nothing about jicama's or monkey peanuts! LOL. But now I won't be afraid should I encounter them on my raw food journey. Hee. Thank you so much for sharing this! :o)

Wow Bunny! I just found your blog today and am sooo happy I did: You are wonderful and delightful: As rediscover said; "the cutest" -- and the fries looked yummy too!

I just wanted to drop a line and say hi! I look forward to following along with you over the next 75 days!!

LOL! Hey why can't it be pronounced Gikama? I thought that was cute. I wonder if I'd like jicama? I might have to check this out. :)

"...I do live with the skinniest man on Earth, who always has potato chips in the house."

Are you sure you don't live with my husband?

Jicama is also yummy with lime juice squeezed over and cumin and salt sprinkled on it. (a la Rick Bayless. He says that's how you get it from street vendors in Mexico--wrapped in a paper cone.)
Keep up the good work!

Holy Jicama, Batman! I tried this recipe today, and they were amazingly tasty! The seasoning reminds me of "steak fries". As I was eating them, I thought, 'these are WAY BETTER than potato french fries.' I would rather eat these than McDonald's french fries. (I never thought those words would come out of my mouth!!) I am a CONVERT!
