Day 67 of 100 Day Raw Food Challenge: Cholesterol Meds

Today I discuss my decision about going on cholesterol medication. And divulge my evil plan to reverse metabolic syndrome the natural way through exercise. Evil evil exercise! Also, I am tongue tied throughout this entire video, so feel free to laugh at my expense.

You are so stinkin' cute. I think you are using excellent wisdom about not taking those meds. You are on a journey towards renewed health and you are going to lose the buddha, it just takes time (don't I know). I will join you on the July at the gym idea. We're going to have to sweat if we are going to look like Uma.

I'm so glad you decided to put off the cholesterol meds! Me too! My total numbers have only gone down 5 points since going raw, but the "H"ealthy and "L"ousy numbers have switched places! My doc says we should wait and see what several more months of raw healthy lifestyle can do for my cholesterol.

Oh, and yes, you are "seatbelt worthy" ;)

Hi Bunny,

I totally support your decision about the meds. You have seen great progress with your health and can expect more to come your way. The exercise is sure to give you a boost. Another way to get in some exercise is to walk with a friend. You have so much fun yacking that the time flies.

My vote is that you do have the gluten intolerance. Not wishing it so, just suspecting it is the culprit.

Glad that you are a faithful seat belt wearer, even on the plane :) too funny. Just lookin' out for ya!

Missed my Bunny fix those few days.

I've got the prego belly too. I hope that we will lose it together on this raw journey. Things are much more fun with friends!

Raw blessings to you,

Viv

Good for you for taking matters into your own hands. You will triumph! :)

Gluten - confirmed. My vote.

And I'm glad to hear you do make it a habit to wear your seatbelt! Yay!

Mwah!

Hey, good call on continuing the raw food fix instead of the meds fix for your cholesterol woes. Looking forward to seeing where you're at in another couple of months.
Can I put forward a special request for a future episode? Could you tell us how you're feeling these days and what's your daily diet looking like now you've had chance to settle in to things?
Thanks for sharing your journey, I love watching your videos, they always make me smile :)

Good for you for deciding not to take the meds! I think doctors are generally too quick to throw pills at any and every problem. Best of luck with the exercise program - I bet that will make a big difference for you. I, personally, am an exercise addict and don't feel quite right unless I'm getting regular exercise. Cheers, Heather

I believe you made the right choice in postponing the pills and popping into the gym instead!

My vote is yes on the gluten, whether the test confirms it or not. I have found that taking it out and seeing the difference over a period of time is one of the most reliable tests.

But over and above it all..yes, you ARE so stinkin'cute! (Luve the hair clips!) You can make me smile no matter how cloudy the sky is outside.

You go girl, I think your so awesome for deciding to go to the gym. I just checked out a local gym her in Tulsa called fit for her and I'm going to joing because there will be no hot male figures to distrace me. I saw a segment in good morning america that talked about exactly what you described regarding "belly fat" and it was very interesting. Your right in the fact that you have to exercise to get rid of it and to reduce your bad cholestoral and to decrease your chances of heart disease. Kudos too you! Let's try to keep up with each others progess as a means for inspriration at the gym!!!

i think it is highly courageous of you to decide to not take the medication. in my opinion, making a decision like that would be very hard for me, because i've always trusted my doctor! the majority of us are taught to and that no one, not even yourself sometimes, knows how to fix your body but your doctor. since going raw, i'm slowly starting to realize and accept that this has all been strangely wrong in some ways. NO ONE knows my body but me. doctors aren't always right. its better to trust yourself over someone who can "scientifically" diagnose you. the thought of going against my doctor scares me to death. i am overly joyed at your decision and truly feel that the more people take actions like you just have, the more people will see and be proven that YOU are the answer to everything. not a doctor or a pill...you can change yourself, you can better your health...and BUNNY, you ARE! :) i hope one day, we can all trust in ourselves and our bodies...and be as strong as you are, to say no to conventional methods of healing. good luck bunny! you are doing great, you are looking great and i hope you are feeling great. we should all join you for your july at the gym idea! i wanted to start yoga again. that will be my goal. who else is with us??:)

lots of love and easy breaths <3

Good for you, not filling the RX. I have not filled many prescriptions in the past, sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. Doctors seem to want the quick fix when it only masks the real problem. Good luck at the Y! :)

YAY!! I am sooo glad you didn't fill the prescription! You look so wonderful -- my boy and I have been following you since day 40 I think, and we just went back and re-watched day 10 and compared it to today: You look amazing -- your eyes are bright, you can see your amazing cheekbones! You keep Rawkin' it girl!

I think your hair is always looking so cute! :-)

I'm so happy to hear that you are going to give your diet a longer opportunity to show you want can happen with the cholesterol and triglycerides! YAY!! Raw completely took away all of those problems--AND MORE!--for me! I know it can do the same for you, too!!!

I'm thinking it's probably a gluten problem, since so many people are sensitive to gluten these days.

Lots and lots of love to you!

Wendi
